Michelle, can you tell us why you need a solution like 14Dayz Time Registration for teams?

The reason is I have five people working from home on multiple projects and tasks. With 14Dayz it's easy to keep track of time remotely.

How did you manage time tracking before?

Before I logged my hours in spreadsheets and forms, which was very messy.

What were your first thoughts?

My first impression was: 'what an easy user interface'

Why did you decide to go with 14Dayz
and how difficult was the adaptation?

I decide to go with 14Dayz because my first impression was the right one, 14Dayz is easy to use! Next to that it's web 2.0 and the plan I need comes in free. Also the adaptation was easy as 1-2-3, no issues at all.

Why is it that you keep using it?

The access from any computer means I can keep track of time from anywhere anytime. Before I had all information scattered, with 14Dayz all information is stored in one location.

What was the single most frustrating thing that 14Dayz has helped you solve?

When I started using 14Dayz, on any given day I might manage fifteen or twenty different projects, but at my firm I had to track my time by the type of marketing work I did. 14Dayz was a perfect tool because the free version allowed me to use the four projects for the four types of work I did during the day - search engine optimization, pay-per-click marketing, content management, and administrative/personnel management - and then divide each type of work into the 10 sub-projects, which often overlapped. For example, I might have one campaign that had an SEO and a PPC element to it - with 14Dayz, I could track my time the way my firm needed to, and I could also track the project hours, too. So 14Dayz helped me with that tricky time accounting that a simple time tracking application doesn't let you do.

How are you using 14Dayz?

Tracking time by project and task. Using the timer to track time exactly and create reports.

Which features do you like the most?

The timer is great because it keeps running even when your browser is closed. I have to go off site for meetings and track travel time, and I have to move between a desktop and laptops, and even between a Mac and a Windows machine, but if I set a timer, 14Dayz tracks my time, and when I'm done with that client, I just log in and stop the timer, and my billing is tracked correctly.

What do you find the most valuable aspect?

Being able to access the tool through any browser regardless of operating system. I go to graduate school as well and sometimes access those computers - it's great to not have to lug some book around, and know that my information is in the tool no matter what hardware I'm using.

How has 14Dayz helped you improve your billing or specifications?

Now I know what percentage of time I spend on what project, and I've been able to radically increase my productivity by reducing the time I spend on projects that don't make money.

Can you tell us how 14Dayz has affected your time tracking habits?

I'm tracking time more regularly. Time tracking has become a habit, it's not a hassle anymore!
